When its it a good time to commit to your health?

It's Monday. It's the New Year. Summer is coming.  These are words most of us say when we are ready to start a health pact with ourselves. Again! Yes I said it.  How many times have you started this cycle, fail and start over.  This way of thinking will never get you to reach your goals, or even worse remain stuck where you are.

Today is a new day.  Give yourself permission to put down the identity that does not serve you and finally pick up the one that does.  Facing the fact that you are overweight and not healthy goes way beyond physical.  The unwanted weight gain is a manifestation of things that have happened throughout your life time

The hurt. The guilt. The shame. The fear.  And worst of all, The truth.  All these very uncomfortable to deal with.  So how do we deal with these?  For most of us, the quickest and easiest possible.  We begin to use food instead of as an emotional escape to becoming a strict drill sergeant on ourselves.  We go from 0 to 100.  Eating 2500 hundred calories to 900?  Using this tactic as an escape for something else.

Of course you will lose weight.  Any change in your diet will make you lose weight, but the results are often short lived.  We call this the lottery effect.  70 percent of people who win the lottery go broke. And 90 percent of the people who lose weight gain it back.  It's easy to get money or in this case loose weight with the slightest change.  The difficult part is to hold on to that money and weight loss as a new life style.

When you desire a true transformation you need to be OK with doing the work.  Not only the work in the gym or in the kitchen cooking, but doing the internal work so that you can actually step in to the next version of yourself. It's important to start your journey to weight loss because of health reasons and not because of any other external reason.  It's never too late.  it doesn't matter how many times you failed.  All that matters is what you desire now!  And where you want to go from here.
